Kettering Service Clubs Make Historic Pledge

In December of 2011 the four local major services clubs joined forces to support the Kettering Parks Foundation. The Rotary Club of Kettering, Dorwood-Optimists, Noon Optimists, and the Kettering – Centerville Kiwanis clubs all joined forces and pledged a combined gift of $34,000 to the Reach for the Sky Campaign. This gift is historic in that it marks the first time that any of the club members can recall that all four service clubs joined together to support a single program. The gifts came from the clubs, foundations and individual club members as well, and the donation enabled the Reach for the Sky Campaign to surpass the 50% fundraising mark. The Kettering Parks Foundation is extremely appreciative of the generosity of these great organizations, and it is another example of why the Kettering Community is such a great place to live, work and play.
